The Hermitage Hotel


This is where you can find various terms and conditions relating to bookings at The Hermitage Hotel (Part of Oceana Hotels & Restaurants).

  • Providing you have booked directly with the hotel, Central Reservations Department or the hotels direct website, if you find a lower rate like for like we will match the rate plus an additional 10% discount within 48 hours of your booking being made. Our reservations team must be able to see the rate on the public site to qualify.
  • This rate does not apply to any promotions discounts or special offers made.
  • The terms of booking will be the same as the terms that apply to the rate which is being discussed i.e. APR, best available etc. and will be inclusive of the same terms i.e. room only, bed and breakfast or dinner bed and breakfast.
  • Please be advised that any booking clubs such as Genius or mobile promotions or Expedia’s MOD do not apply to this offer as they are member only rates.
  • If a reservation has already been made and a rate subsequently is seen at a lower rate we will be unable to match that rate if this is out of the 48 hour period.

Limited Parking is available free of charge within the hotel grounds on a first come first served basis only for guests who book directly with the hotel by phone or on our official website. The guests booking through a third party will be charged £14.00 per day. Vehicles & their contents are parked entirely at the guests own risk. Please collect a permit from reception on arrival. On street parking is available but chargeable for a small fee.

Please note that all cards used for payment must be presented to Reception on check in for a chip and pin security swipe. If this is not possible please contact Reservations on 01202 298350 as we will require our 3rd party authorisation form to be filled out and returned prior to arrival. 3rd Party forms cover payment for up to £500.00 in value, if this amount is exceeded we will require payment by bank transfer. If the card is not present and no 3rd party form has been received payment will be refunded to the original form of payment and another payment method requested before check in is permitted.

On check-in you will be asked if you wish to open a credit facility to charge extras to during your stay, a valid credit or debit card will be pre-authorised for an amount you choose upon check-in. Once this limit is reached the hotel will automatically collect the authorisation and ask you for another pre-authorisation before re-opening the facility. Should you choose not to open an account you will need to pay as you go for any extras you have, all of our outlets accept cash and card payments. In the event you do not use your credit facility, any amount pre-authorised will be released on your departure.

We allow the accommodation of small dogs (one dog per room) at a supplement of £20 per day. As a matter of courtesy to other guests, dogs are only allowed in certain OUTDOOR public areas at the Hotel, mainly because food is served throughout our bars, lounges, restaurants and poolside areas. Please ask a member of the team for designated dog friendly areas. For health and safety reasons we DO NOT accept dogs in our 1st Floor Sea View or Superior Terrace rooms or our Ocean Front Suite. A pet bond must be signed at check in, along with a £50 refundable deposit. Any damage, soiling or excessive dog hair on soft furnishings will incur specialist cleaning charges. Cats & other animals are strictly prohibited. Guide and assistance dogs are exempt from this policy and charges providing correct certificate / paperwork is provided on check in.

When booking 5 or more rooms the hotel will enforce our Single Sex Group Bond Agreement. This is in place for all same gender bookings to ensure all guests have a peaceful stay. Each member of your party is required to sign the form on arrival along with £100 pre-authorisation or deposit per person retained by the hotel. The pre-authorisation / deposit will be released on departure providing there has been no noise disturbance or other problems during your stay.
